Student Survey Data Presentation 2022
In keeping with best practice, and as required by our federal Drug Free Communities (DFC) grant funding, RyeACT routinely collects both quantitative and qualitative data to inform our prevention work in the community, and to evaluate the impact of our prevention strategies. These data sources include formal and informal surveys, key leader reporting (schools, law enforcement, hospital partners), and anecdotal student and parent reporting, among others.
One key component of these efforts is to conduct a biennial student drug and alcohol survey, which is administered to all students in grades 7-12 at Rye Middle School and Rye High School in collaboration with our community partners at the Rye City School District.
This video presentation and corresponding resource materials track survey data collected in Febraury 2021 and feedback from RyeACT Coalition members, including youth leaders, and the RyeACT Steering Committee.
We contract with The Iona College Center for Social Research (Director, Jeanne Matich-Maroney, PhD, LCSW-R) to provide survey data analysis and evaluation services. We also contract with the Montana State University Center for Health & Safety Culture (Senior Research Scientist, Katherine Dively, M.S., MCHES) to consult on ongoing strategy development. Both of these valuable thought partners work with Coalition leadership to provide recommendations to the RyeACT Steering Committee.
